Relegation

May 7, 2007 · 2 Comments

Well, it finally happened tonight. Charlton are relegated from The Premiership.

It had been coming for a long time and if we are honest we deserve it. We have improved but were terrible for about 2/3rds of the season.

So onwards and upwards even if we do have to play bloody Palace again.

Rumours of a bid for the club on the BBC tonight. Had often thought before why none of the foreign investors had looked at Charlton.

Maybe there is a silver lining….

Barcelona Day 4

March 28, 2007 · Leave a Comment

Well, I’ve not managed to post much despite having free wifi access from my hotel room. Have had an easy day today with just some wandering around and a visit to a museum. Just having a little siesta before getting some food and drink before the Andorra vs England game at 9pm. I’ll get some pictures from that a little later.

Spent the last 2 days doing all the sighseeing arounf the city. Two very full days and I’ve seen to have walked miles and miles despite using the tourist bus quite a bit as well.

Lots to see and really like the place. I’ve enjoyed this city much more than a previous trip to Madrid.

Seen more than one Irish Bar as usual and ended up in one for a nice steak pie last night. Nothing like sampling authentic Spanish food !

Watford Away

March 2, 2007 · Leave a Comment

Well quite a long time since my last posting. And maybe some football this time rather than my plans for travel.

So Watford away tomorrow. I’m going and one of the lucky 2,000 to get a ticket. After last weeks great win over the Hammers there would be plenty who would like to go.

So looks like we have a few injury worries but is there some bluff from Pardew ? Maybe but the team can surely go into the game with confidence.

Let’s just hope we start positively again and the confidence will lead to a good performance.

Nervous as hell before the game with West Ham last week and will be the same before the game tomorrow.

New Signing

Well it looks like we have signed another central defender. So how many is that now ? Surely we need to sell some players now ?

January Transfer Window

Well it looks like Celtic may not have nicked one of our targets this time. By all accounts we are signing Andrew Stokes tomorrow. How desperately we need another striker. It’s no surprise that as soon as Darren Bent has been injured or not playing well then we are hopeless. I just hope we do not sell him.

FA Cup

January 7, 2007 · Leave a Comment

Well, no surprise to any Charlton fan that we once again went out of the FA Cup at the 3rd round. How many times has been over the last few years ? And with the season we are having then I’m surprised I never put a bet on Forest. It was a sure thing.

Once again watching it on Match Of The Day is embarrassing. I wonder if the players watch. How can they live with themselves ?

Relegation

December 16, 2006 · Leave a Comment

Watched Charlton again today and it was dreadful. Relegation will come soon and maybe with a record number of goals conceeded. It just wasn’t good enough and the players should all be very ashamed of their lack of performance.

Tuesday will see the Quarter final of the League Cup aginst Wycombe. Surely we must win then ?
