Cycling and my mobile

May 22, 2007 · 2 Comments

So I have got a new mobile a Nokia E65. I’ve downloaded the Nokia Sports Tracker software and this can then link up to my bluetooth GPS and record exactly where I’ve cycled and at what speed and altitude.

At the end of the ride I can then export the file to a Google Earth KML file and then see exactly where I’ve been.

So here is my 1st ride. Just click on the KML file and if you have Google Earth installed it will show you exactly where I cycled this morning.

Not as fast as I wanted as too much traffic and hundreds of traffic lights.

I’ve successfully seen your route in Google Earth – that’s a cool use of the technology – and blimey – you went a fair way!

Did you do that hill near Chislehurst station? Bet that’s fun coming from Bromley up towards Sidcup on the bike!!

Hi Mike, they were just training runs not like the long runs I need to be doing ! I haven’t done the hill you are thinking about though. Maybe later in the year when I’m a bit fitter !
